The European Commission, in its European Technology Strategy (2020) report, identified additive technologies and new materials as two of the ten key technologies that will be critical to Europe's future. McKinsey & Company and Gartner, in their studies, noted that additive technologies and new materials are among the most promising technologies in terms of growth and impact on the global economy.
